¡®Music in Sight¡¯is a section where the audience can enjoy music documentaries introducing the various sides of musicians, life and culture. A number of works reflecting the passionate attempts to capture music of diverse genres such as Tango, Hip Hop, Reggae, and musicians ranging from Sigur Rós, Chet Baker, Anita O¡¯Day, to Bob Marley as objectively as possible are showcased in this section.

 

Africa Unite

Africa Unite is a must for all lovers reggae and especially Bob Marley, but not only for them. The documentary looks at the massive and controversial celebration of Marley¡¯s 60th birthday held in February 2005 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. About 300,000 admirers, musicians and activists gathered from all over the world to listen to the sons and wife of the reggae hero, who died more than 20 years ago. The Pan-Africa awareness that he achieved with his music and activism are still very topical today. The music comes first and much of the film looks at the unique 12-hour concert from 2005, compellingly visualized.

A Different Way: Tango with Rodolfo Mederos

Rodolfo Mederos is a bandoneonist, a composer with an enormous oeuvre, one of the authorities on the tango and an inspiration to new generations of musicians. Born in Buenos Aires and still living there, the city has always been his muse. The sounds of his bandoneon are like musical images of life, like a journey through the corners and times of his native city. Rodolfo is now 65 and at the prime of his career. His struggle for the tango the lonely campaign of a man and his bandoneon continues.

Heima is Sigur Rós¡¯first ever film, filmed over two weeks last summer when the band undertook a series of free, unannounced concerts in Iceland. they hauled 40-plus people round 15 locations to the furthest flung corners of their homeland for their debut venture into live film, to create something inspirational. Heima was directed by Dean DeBlois, a long-time fan of the band and director of the Oscar-nominated animated feature Lilo & Stitch, using an Icelandic crew.
 
 
 
I Love Hip Hop in Morocco
