
REGULATIONS
1. Organizations
The Jecheon International Music & Film Festival (JIMFF) is presented by the Jecheon International Music & Film Festival Executive Committee and hosted by Jecheon City and Cheongpung Film Commission.
2. Goals
The Jecheon International Music & Film Festival aims to be both a celebration of film and exhilarating music shared and enjoyed by everyone of all generations and musical tastes. And the festival presents a series of programs that combine film and music including: a section specifically for music, a program which introduces the various currents of contemporary cinema, a number of musical performances staged outdoors on the shores of Cheongpung Lake, the Jecheon Film Music Award honoring film musicians who have had significant influence on Korea¡¯s film and music culture, and a masterclass designed as an educational program specializing in film music.
3. Festival Dates
The 2nd Jecheon International Music & Film Festival will be held for 6 days from August 9 to 14 2006 in Jecheon City of Chungcheongbuk Province, Korea.
4. Programs
The main programs of the Jecheon International Music & Film Festival are composed of non-competitive sections as follows;
I. Music in Sight: A section to truly enjoy the JIMFF as a music and film festival, ¡®Music in Sight¡¯ presents the latest features and documentaries selected under diverse musical themes. As image and sound meet, a richer and more seductive world of film music will unravel.
II. Cine Symphony: The ¡®Cine Symphony¡¯ section presents world cinema now through acclaimed new features that address the diverse ways of life in the world. Original works from contemporary filmmakers highlight the meaning of film as ¡®a window to the world.¡¯
III. Theme and Variations: From the vibrant and colorful world of music, a specific theme will inspire a selection of feature films and documentaries addressing a perspective on music from a specialist¡¯s standpoint. A section for music maniacs and audiences who desire a deeper understanding of music.
IV. Film Music Retrospective: A section that goes beyond the general perception of film music as simply a functional element in film, by reviving the historical value of film music and reconfirming the artistic spirit of film music directors who have been longtime companions to film.
V. Family Fest: A popular and festive section which encourages all to share and to enjoy regardless of generation, differences or boundaries through various lively works.
5. Entry Conditions
5.1 The Jecheon International Music & Film Festival is open to both domestic and foreign feature films, documentaries, animations, experimental films, short/medium length films and visual productions on digital media.
5.2 To be eligible, films must be on 35mm or 16mm prints with optical soundtrack; and videotapes must be on Digital Betacam, Betacam, DVCAM, or 6mm Digital in NTSC format.
5.3 To submit an entry, you must submit a preview videotape or DVD copy, a completely filled-in entry form, and required materials for publications no later than June 20, 2006 to the address below;

5.4 A preview videotape or DVD copy must fullfil the following conditions;

English subtitles must be provided if the original language of the film is not English
Conditions
If the film is selected to be officially screened at JIMFF,
the preview tape should be of the same conditions
as the presenting 35mm or 16mm print, Digital betacam, Betacam,
DVCAM, and 6mm digital.
6. Selection
6.1 Films officially screened at the JMIFF will be selected by the Festival programmers. Each selected film will be notified individually before June 20, 2006.
6.2 Films selected for screening in the festival cannot be withdrawn from the programs after June 20, 2006.
7. Shipment of prints and videotapes
7.1 Prints or videotapes of selected films must arrive at the JIMFF Main Office July 20, 2006 at the address below;

7.2 Right after the shipment, the print/videotape provider must fax a copy of the Airway Bill to the festival, indicating the method and date of shipment and flight number for the airfreight. Also, a copy of the invoice must be faxed, indicating the sender¡¯s name, title and length of the film/videotape, number of reels, film format and black-and-white or color. The original copy of the invoice must be attached in the print/videotape package.
7.3 The Jecheon International Music & Film Festival will be responsible for the round-way shipping cost only in the case where the shipment has been made through the official courier service designated by the festival. If the participant wishes to use the other courier services, the shipping cost will be decided under the approval of the Festival Executive Committee.
7.4 In case the print/videotape is shipped to or from other festivals, the festival will follow the existing custom of cost sharing. Considering domestic prints/videotapes, the festival will be responsible for the domestic shipping cost only.
7.5 Prints/videotapes will be returned to the address indicated on the entry form within 2 weeks after the closing of the Festival. In case the print should be returned to a different address, the print/videotape provider must inform the Festival of the desired return address and date by sending a shipping instruction invoice by no later than July 20, 2006.
8. Submission of documentation and materials
8.1 The documentation and materials for each selected film must arrive at the address below before June 20, 2006. The submitted documentation and materials will be used for the JIMFF catalogue as well as for other promotional purposes. 8.2 The Festival is entitled to use the submitted Beta tape for promotional purposes. In case there is no Beta tape available, excerpts from the film within three minutes length be used for these purposes.
8.3 Submitted documentation and materials will not be returned unless there is specific request from participants.
9. Insurance
9.1 The Festival will assume insurance responsibility against any loss or damage that may occur during the delivery and return of the print to and from the Festival Main Office.
9.2 For any damage or loss incurred while they are within and between the Festival official boundaries, the Festival¡¯s liability is limited to reimbursement for the production costs of a new print following the standard rates. If the damaged or lost print is subtitled, the Festival will also assume liability for the subtitling costs.
10. General Regulation
10.1 The above regulations take effect with the submission of a completed entry form signed by the producer, agent or domestic distributor of the film.
10.2 The Festival Executive Committee reserves the right to decide matters not mentioned in the above regulations.
